The descendants of Black Arctic Explorer Matthew Henson still live in Arctic Greenland.  When Henson served as guide for White American explorer Robert Peart to discover the North Pole. They made several expeditions together and around 1906, both fathered sons in the same Inuit village.

Their sons,  both grew to manhood as raised by Inuit stepfathers, and had several children of their own.  Some Henson and Peary descendants even intermarried, so some are descendants of both Henson and Peary.

The family has grown quite large, and some Henson descendants have moved to Sweden and even the U.S.
