The Minnesota Supreme Court rejected a right-wing lawsuit and unanimously upheld a law signed by Gov. Tim Walz (D) in 2023 that restores voting rights to over 55,000 Minnesotans with a previous felony conviction.
Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris announced Walz as her running mate yesterday (August 6, 2024). During the Philadelphia rally last night, Harris praised him for defending the right to vote — specifically referencing the Minnesota Voting Rights Act. “As governor, he signed the most significant expansion of voting rights in Minnesota in over 50 years,” Harris said.
