WorldBeat Center celebrated an amazing first summer harvest at our new
farm plot! This season we grew an abundance of zucchinis and nearly 50 watermelons. With the watermelons, we hosted a community fast with over 20 participants.
Fasting with watermelon is more than refreshing—it supports cleansing of the bowels and kidneys and provides natural
hydration.
Next year, we plan to plant even more watermelons and expand into new varieties.
Each seasonal shift invites us to adjust our diets: as
summer closes, with its stone fruits and leafy greens, it’s the perfect time to lighten up with raw fruits, veggies, and fresh juices. Summer is nature’s invitation to let your body breathe and sweat off the toxins.
Your skin is your body’s largest organ. Can you believe that? A skin brush, shea butter, or moringa oil can help keep it nourished and protected. Hydration is key: drink plenty of water, coconut water, or try adding a pinch of Celtic salt to ensure mineral absorption.
Whenever possible, seek local mountain water; here in San Diego, we source Palomar Mountain water in bulk. I remember when you could drive up and fill up your five gallon bottles free.
As we move toward fall, it’s time to prepare your garden. You can pick up seeds at
WorldBeat Center—but don’t forget to pay it forward. Bring back seeds from your harvest so that
we can continue to pay it forward.
