On Saturday November 8 2025, we joined the vibrant energy of the Native Star Fashion Show downtown, rising in the gallery-lights at 631 5th Ave as Indigenous designers and artists brought their work proudly to the runway — it was a
moment of community, culture and creativity converging.
The show, held November 7 & 8 in honour of Native American Heritage Month, took place at Native Star Boutique (631 5th Ave, San Diego). The space, founded and guided by owner Ruth Ann Thorn (Rincon Band of Luiseño), celebrates luxury creations by Indigenous makers.

Among the spotlighted labels were Original Landlords (represented by Jeremy Arviso) and other Indigenous brands such as Bitterwater for Redhouse, Breezy Design, Kayla Lookinghorse,
Patricia Michaels, and Sage Mountain Design.
For us at WorldBeat, the show felt like a celebration of Indigenous identity and artistry. It was an experience rooted in community, storytelling, and visual splendor.
