I want to spread awareness about suicide and how the internet plays a role in it. There are many dangerous and irresponsible trends online, such as a trend from a month or two ago where people would hang off tall structures and film TikTok videos. I believe the internet can sometimes help people, but other times it encourages risky and harmful behavior.

There have been over 1,000 suicides just this year, according to Google. I think there should be more suicide awareness months because many people who struggle with depression or other mental health issues never receive the help they need in time.

For example, on October 23, 2025, a 15-year-old girl named Nainai died by suicide on Facebook Live. She had mental health problems that were not addressed in time, and she tragically took her own life by jumping from approximately the 20th floor of a building in Jilin, China.

I believe Nevada should do more to promote suicide prevention resources, such as phone numbers people can call if they are ever considering harming themselves, including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. All of my information was found through Google.
