With the hottest days behind us in Southern Nevada NARA resumed its meeting the second week of September.

Nevada Alliance for Retired Americans (NARA) welcomed Attorney General Aaron Ford. Yvonne Hawk Verjan opened the meeting with a prayer in her traditional language. AG (Attorney General) Aaron Ford is no stranger to politics or what it takes to be a true “political warrior” in these perilous times in American and Nevada history. He was one of Indian Voices Newspaper first advertisers more than 15 years ago. His welcoming smile and humble persona has not changed since. During his speech he opened up about how the federal government helped him as a single father to achieve his goals to better his life. Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford has repeatedly taken legal action against the Trump administration on several issues. The lawsuits and actions, sometimes filed in coalition with other attorneys general, cover various topics including tariffs, federal funding, and election administration. This former math teacher will be running for Governor of Nevada in the upcoming elections.
