May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Nevada faces significant mental health challenges, including high rates of substance use disorders, suicide ideation, and difficulty accessing mental health care. The state ranks relatively low in several mental health indicators compared to other states.
In Nevada, the highest risk of suicide occurs between the ages of 80-84. When compared to the national suicide rate, Nevada was 91% higher.
