
Synopsis: Last year, I read a newsletter article by M.D. Creekmore, a homesteader from West Virginia, which left such an impression on me that I saved it and still think about it. Titled, "The Best Things in Life Aren't on a Screen", it reminded me of what I think we all can agree on, that our best moments and experiences were when we were engaged in the real world, not the digital one. Meanwhile, the simplest activities can be the remedy we need for our dis-ease acquired from the collective, if only we are willing to put the device down. "So if you’re feeling tired, burned out, or like something’s missing, try turning everything off. Go outside. Walk slow. Watch the clouds. Plant something. Call a friend instead of texting. Let your mind breathe. Because the best things in life aren’t on a screen—they’re right in front of you, if you’re willing to look."
