It was a day of reflections and communication allowing humans to experience the strength in community.
The Talking Stick was a powerful facilitating tool encouraging the assembled media pros to comfortably conduct a post mortem analysis of journalistic excellence within the mainstream established Fourth Estate. The conversations were deep and objectively critical of colleagues who sacrifice adherence and loyalty to the First Amendment in favor of job security. This breach of ethics was viewed not only as cowardly but as a lethal threat to our nation’s Democracy. This spontaneous gathering mobilized a conscientious group of journalistic First Responders focused on repairing and unifying press freedom that has been orphaned from our body politic and surgically removed by sophisticated forked tongued gangsta political wizardry. The alarm has sounded.
The fractures in our society can no longer be ignored by our media and the factions must be identified.
While a significant portion of our fellow Americans are suffering from a full blown melt downtown identity crisis over a football halftime show, while Buddhist Monks are concluding a trek creek across America for peace guided by a life force embracing humanity. The division could not be more graphic. Power mongering buzzards in business suits hover overhead as the KKK masquerading as ICE Agents are terrorizing and murdering our citizens while the final chapter of the civil war has yet to be written.
Tactical Congressional hearings and presidential executive orders are toothless amateur props devoid of leadership. Plans are underway for the construction of multiple concentration camps in our country, as a mental health emergency rages through the American psyche
All of these issues would be top priority in a thriving, inquisitive, healthy media landscape. The media first responders answered the call to come to tribal land to announce that the authoritarians have struck a rock surrounding and protecting the first amendment covered by a capable energized courageous American Media deserving of the honor of holding the Talking Stick and representing We the People of the Nation’s Storytellers.
